Privacy Policy

This page describes how we run our website and, more specifically, how we process the personal data of visitors using our site.

The information provided is also based on the guidelines contained in Recommendation no. 2/2001, which was adopted on 17 May 2001 by the European data protection authorities within the Working Party set up under Article 29 of European Directive 95/46/EC in order to lay down minimum requirements for the collection of personal data online – especially with regard to arrangements, timing and contents of the information to be provided by data controllers to users visiting web pages for whatever purpose.

You can access the Site without being asked to give any personal data. Nonetheless, it is standard for the computer systems running the Site to passively collect an amount of personal information as part of their everyday operation given that transmission of said information is implicit in the use of internet protocols. This information is not gathered with the purpose of identifying you as an individual though it could, by its very nature, lead to your identification as a result of subsequent processing. Said information may include the IP addresses of the computers you use to connect to the Site, the web browser used, the time of the request, etc..

This information is used only for the purpose of producing anonymous statistical information on the use of the Site (such as, above all, the number of visits) and to check the Site is running properly, and is deleted as soon as it has been processed. This process does not involve processing data that would make direct identification possible.

The Data Controller is Podere Italiano S.r.l., based in Italy in Motta di Livenza (TV), Via Bassano del Grappa n° 8, in the person of the duly authorized representative pro tem. Processing in connection with the web service (Request for information submitted with the “Contact us” forms) offered by this Site is carried out at the above-mentioned premises and is handled by the data controller and duly appointed personnel, while processing for the purposes of the newsletter service is carried out at a different location (see below). No personal data are made public, while certain data may be disclosed to third parties where this is essential to providing the service (newsletter). Whenever you opt voluntarily to send emails to the addresses indicated in this Site, we acquire your address and general details (first name and surname) – which are necessary in order to reply to the enquiry – as well as other personal data that may have been included in the message sent.

In addition to providing data as part of the navigation process mentioned above, you can also opt to supply the personal data requested on the enquiry forms, where applicable. Failure to provide such data may entail the failure to be provide with the items requested.

The Site allows you to express your preferences by interacting with other applications (so-called social media sites), such as Facebook. By clicking the relevant key found on the pages of the Site, you can log in to your Facebook profile and comment on or like the content of our Site. Before we start talking about navigation data, we should first explain what cookies are. Cookies are simple text files that are stored on your web browser to tell you apart from other users of the site. The use of cookies is standard practice among internet sites. No so-called persistent cookies of any kind are used, in other words we don’t use systems to track users. The use of so-called session cookies (which are not stored permanently on your computer’s hard drive and are deleted when the browser is closed) is instead strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (made up of random numbers generated by the server), which are required to enable you to explore the Site securely and efficiently. More specifically, session cookies are used for the following purposes:

  • to enable you to carry information across different pages of the Site so that you don’t have to keep re-entering data.
  • to put together anonymous statistics that help the data controller assess how users use the Site and, consequently, improve their navigation experience.

If you alter your browser settings to restrict or limit the use of cookies, you may find you cannot use certain Site features.

With reference to data processing practices, we process personal data, by electronic and other means, only for the time it takes to achieve the purposes for which the data were originally collected and/or provided, after which they will be destroyed or deleted unless we are legally required now or in the future to keep them.

The personal data collected and/or provided are processed for the following purposes:

Request for Information. For dealing with requests that are submitted using the “Contact us” forms; your first name, surname or company name and email address are compulsory data as they are required for the purpose of replying to and identifying the enquirer.
Managing the mailing list for the purpose of the Newsletterservice; you are free to decide whether you want to sign up to the newsletter service to receive regular sales and marketing updates on Podere Italiano S.r.l. services and products, which will be emailed to the address you voluntarily provide. The Site employs the services of MailChimp (based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States) to deliver and manage the newsletter. The data collected are stored on secure MailChimp servers, meaning that by signing up to the service, you also agree to this data transfer. As stated in the MailChimp Privacy Policy, MailChimp will never use your data directly or sell your information to third parties. MailChimp employs suitably authorized operators to maintain the service and said operators may have access to user data in the performance of said duties. Whatever the case, the guarantees provided by the MailChimp privacy policy apply. When the data controller sends the newsletter, the data are retrieved by means of instruments provided by MailChimp, via which the newsletter is sent to users. More specifically, you are entitled, at any time and at no cost, to edit your preference and ask to unsubscribe to the newsletter using the form found on the Site or by contacting the data controller directly.

In addition, data may be processed as part of Site checking and maintenance operations.

Data subjects are entitled at any time to obtain confirmation of the existence of personal data concerning them and be informed of their contents and origin, verify their accuracy, or else request that such data be supplemented, updated or rectified (Section 7 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003).

The above Section also provides for the right to request erasure, anonymisation or blocking of any data that is processed in breach of the law as well as to object in all cases, on legitimate grounds, to processing of the data.
